Leon’s passion for woodworking is innate. He’s following in the footsteps of his father and both grandfathers by continuing the trade the traditional way. Leon’s career in woodworking took off when he received a job offer from a recognised high-end furniture manufacturer in the 90’s. It was through this company Leon started his apprenticeship training in furniture making, design and wood machining which ran through The Countryside Agency. Leon spent 3 years with The Countryside Agency intensively training in the traditional methods of joinery and wood machining. From here Leon moved on to specialise in period architectural joinery alongside his father, in his Oxford based joinery workshop. In 2004 Leon saw an opportunity to set up his own workshop making prestigious outdoor furniture and planters, each piece beautifully made to order. Since starting his workshop Leon has extended the Oxford Planters range to include bespoke architectural commissions. Leon works on commissions for clients around the globe, with many client’s returning with new projects for Leon and his team to work on.
